Hi Everyone,
I have written a little utility that downloads show pictures from epguides.
This utility can be used in conjunction with the TVListings plugin to show program pictures in the guide.

You can download it from the wiki

Right now the utility is hard-coded to download pictures to media\art under your gbpvr installation directory.

The utility takes a while to run, but this all depends on the size of your epg and unique show names therein.
Please try it out and let me know what you think.

The utility needs to reside in the GBPVR installation folder in order to run.

Thanks and enjoy!

EDIT - Added a command line option. Passing in Y after the program will copy the pictures downloaded with an extra two spaces at the end.
This allows people using TVGuideSuperCharger to see pictures for 'New' shows (shows that show up with a * at the end of the name)

usage ProgramImageTool.exe Y

I have changed the utility to look in media/art of your GBPVR installation folder.
I also changed the utility to remove Latin accents when searching epguides.com since they do not use the accents.
Here is an updated zip file.

Download from the top of the page...

Enjoy!

Just downloaded it and running it now. Couple of questions:

Does it run automatically? Does it have to be run manually? or added to postupdateepg.bat?

Also, as it's running now I see a lot of "no image found for...". Can't connect to http://www.epgguide.com through my browser - server overload?

Ah... should be epguides.com. That connected okay. Whoops.

Maybe I should wait before posting Wink

It's working fine, downloading images to media\art... presumably it's not finding images for some shows on the server.

Cool little plugin!

Cool little plugin!

Precisely, those messages just mean that there was no image found for that particular show.

I wrote it to just be a standalone application considering the amount of time it takes to run. But if you put it in your postupdateepg.bat file I'm sure it would work just fine, but I have not tested that...

Everthing works find to get the pics into media/Art. I cannot see them on TVGUIDE Supercharge. I'm unclear what to EDIT (updateepg.bat) ? and what exactly is the command line "usage programImageTool.exe Y ".

Can You help me

Thx
