Transcode Option in Recordings

I think it would be nice to see a Transcode option, like the one in the Video section, in the Recordings section. That way if you wanted to Transcode just one show to one other format, then it could be done quite easily. That way, you wouldn't have to waste CPU time transcoding absolutely everything that was recorded if you don't want to.

I sometimes thought that a 'Transcode' option in the season recordings pop up would be handy.

For example: If there is a series that i want to keep for a while after i select record 'all on channel/weekly/daily' and after 'keep x recordings' there is an option to 'transode' these recordings to whichever preset.

That way, if i want a film kept for later, or a series, it would automatically be transcoded to avi etc and save space?

I admit for one offs its not too much effort to go to videos and transcode things individually, but it would be nice to select a series to be converted for each instance?

Sorry to hijack this thread, but is there a guide somewhere that shows what needs to be done to get the transcode option working from the video library menu ?

This should work as it is. If you want to transcode recordings you have to add the recordings-dir to the list of dirs for video-library to scan, in gbpvr-config-directories. Then your recordings will show up in videolibrary as well.

Ok, tried with Blue skin, same thing. Transcode button appears to do nothing.
What else can I check ?

do you actually see the popup window where you select the transcode format (divx/xvid/etc)?

nope, nothing, If I select up or down then the cursor moves above or below the transcode option
