ubu Wrote:Well, firstly, if you want to add (not import) the NDR2 stream to your UbuStream station list, simply click New>Station and add the name and URL there. Then it will show up in your list of stations. You are trying to enter it in the URL field on the Worldwide Media Project panel. This is for WWMP users to enter their unique link for downloading playlists from WWMP. You need to be a registered WWMP user (it's free) to use this feature.).
Actually I am a registered WWMP user and did try to input the link to the station from WWMP. Is it the station link

Link http://www1.ndr2.de/pages_special_lib/0,...r2,00.html

or the "Listen" link?

http://stream.ndr.de/bb/redirect.lsc?str...e&media=rm

I am now a bit confused what this "unique link" is?

I see you can download Playlists as a Ubustream list (note that the NDR2 station has no playlists, just a link to the station feed in wmv or rma). How do I know that? I added the station ...

ubu Wrote:So it shows up on the plugins tab in the GB-PVR config app but not on the main menu when you run GB-PVR?
Yes.

ubu Wrote:If you had "AutoSynch at startup" checked on the WWMP panel (couldn't see in your screen print because the error dialog obscured it) that would have caused UbuStream to abend at startup because of the bad URL you entered. Uncheck it and get rid of that URL. If UbuStream still doesn't appear on the menu, look in the gbpvr.exe.log file for "fatal" errors and let me know (or attach the log file so I can see it).
Will get back to you on that.

Have attached logs :-)

Cheers and thanks,

Success! OK, I've got past config :-) For some odd reason (unrelated to Ubustream), I always have to start my GBPVR config twice, the first time it always fails with a "Not responding" screen, I exit that and it works fine the 2nd time. Sorry to send you on a wild goose chase with that ...

btw that fellows instructions for MVP usage. Do they apply to this version too ? I just added a TOSLINk to my MVP (wrote up a few instructions for that here) so I am dying to get this into my stereo ... :-)

Yeeahah, this is such a cool plugin... Cool

If you click the Options node of the tree in the UbuStream config app, you will see a help screen displayed which contains the following:

To enable automatic station downloads from the Worldwide Media Project, your personal link address must be stored in the UbuStream database. Log in to WWMP, select “My Profile” and click the “Playlist URL:” link. When the playlist text is displayed in your browser, copy the URL in the address field (higlight it and press Ctrl-C). Return to the UbuStream config app and paste the URL by clicking the “Copy From Clipboard button (or select the field and pres Ctrl-V).

The WWMP download may be tested by clicking the “Test Import” button. Checking “AutoSynch station database at startup” will trigger an automatic download each time the UbuStream plugin first loads. The download may also be requested while GB-PVR is running by pressing the “AutoSynch” button on the UbuStream menu.

Quote: I see you can download Playlists as a Ubustream list (note that the NDR2 station has no playlists, just a link to the station feed in wmv or rma). How do I know that? I added the station ...
If you want to add a single URL, use New>Station. If you want to import several stations from a playlist (generated from an app, a web site, wherever), use Import>File. If you want to automatically import stations from WWMP, use the WWMP panel to set up the connection link. If you want to automatically import stations from Dynamic Source apps, use the Dynamic Source panel to set them up.

From your gbpvr.exe.log, it appears that you still have "AutoSynch at startup" checked on the WWMP panel. This is causing the fatal error we were discussing earlier (since you haven't set up your WWMP link yet) and that's most likely why the UbuStream plugin is failing to load. If you uncheck it, that should fix the problem. If not, let me know.

Looks like our posts crossed. Well that's good news. Now, if it actually shows up in the GB-PVR main menu, you'll be in good shape.

I haven't really changed anything regarding "channel mode" (which is what MVP users have to use) so that whole discussion (and the original UbuStream v1.5 instructions on the wiki page and in the documentation) should still be valid.

:o Oops. Sorry ubu, I just found that ... (thought you said there was little documentation... )

WMMP now tests OK and added a (single) station, although maybe there is a bit of confusion (caused by me), when I added NDR2 to WMMP I added TWO stations both called NDR2 one for WMP and the other for RMA. It recognizes only one despite the WMMP showing FOUR (two duplicates) all the same name.

Quote:[playlist] file1=http://lsd.newmedia.tiscali-business.com/bb/redirect.lsc?content=live&media=ms&stream=ndr/live/ndr2.wma Title1=[Germany][German]NDR2 Length=-1 file2=http://stream.ndr.de/bb/redirect.lsc?stream=ndr/live/ndr2.rm&content=live&media=rm Title2=[Germany][German]NDR2 Length=-1 NumberOfEntries=2 Version=2

which would appear to show 2 stations. I will try and amend WMMP or write to them to do so. I sent this to WMMP

Quote:[13:29] jksmurf: Hi, I added NDR2 twice, once for WMP and once for Real player. I have amended the station names as otherwise it does not work with Ubustream, which recognozes just once station. It also appears there are FOUR stations, when there are in reality two (or one with two names). Could you delete the two duplicates please?

It did. WMMP now works too... albeit with the above glitch, probably caused by me when I added the stations to WMMP!

OK I have the external recorder setup for the MVP (can't test it until I get home, all this by UVNC, thanks to jbyram2 for excellent instructions) ...

... but there is something I can't get around with Stations menu and that is the checkbox for "Show in EPG" doesn't seem to be sticky?? I can get multieel statsions in Options EPG, by choosign one, then seclecting the other etc., and going down to Options EPG, and they are all (both) there, but next time you choose the stations the check box is gone? Is this by design?

Similarly for the WMMP, after you import (works fine), the next time the check boxes are gone? Is this by design?

ubu Wrote:For video:

If you use a remote control you can set one of the buttons to send the Alt-F4 keystroke combo - this will close the window that currently has focus. For most players you have to press the button twice - once to exit from fullscreen, once to close the app. For Hauppauge remotes, for instance, I have the line "GRNPOWER={alt}{f4}" in the DEFAULT section of my irremote.ini file ("GRNPOWER={sys(0xF060)}" will also work). If you use a keyboard/mouse, you can just close the VLC window with your mouse or by typing Alt-F4.
Ok, it's obvious that for video the vlc window needs to have focus. I use the usb-uirt for ir input, I can't easily set it to close windows. Maybe something could be done with HIP, I don't know. But since I don't use video (for now), it's not a problem.

ubu Wrote:For audio:

There is a new setting, "Minimize player when playing audio", in the Options>Player section of the UbuStream config app. When set, you won't see the player at all while it plays your stream. To stop the stream (and close the player) you can use the Stop button on the UbuStream menu. If you want the player to show up (so you can watch your favourite visualizations), leave this option unchecked and close the player, as you would for video, by using the Alt-F4 button on your remote.
I think most of this is mentioned on the UbuStream wiki page and in the v1.5 documentation. I'll be updating all that when I "officially" release v2.0.
This is what I was looking for. Thank's Smile (And a reminder to me to RTFM, or at least check the config options Big Grin )

I tried this now, and sure, the vlc player minimizes, but it still steals focus Sad Is there any way you can force focus back to gbpvr after you minimize the vlc window?

I've never used HIP but a quick glance at the "Hip Guide" on the wiki suggests that it would probably be relatively easily to assign the Alt-F4 keystroke combo to a spare button on your remote. It's also handy for closing those pesky Windows error message dialog boxes (on the few occasions that GB-PVR encounters an error). Maybe next time you're bored. Smile
