Hi, A new guy here,

I have a problem geting my GB-PVR to work in XP x64.

I have .Net 2.0, Nero 7, WinDVD 7 loaded and working. Also WMP 11. I have BDA beta drivers for my Freecom USB DVB-T stick. I know it all works as I've had it going in another OS and Media Center but not this one.

The mux check thingy says I have no muxes but I know I do.Sad

Any ideas on how to make it happen please. Many thanks

Nero and WinDVD dont come with a mux filter. They come with products like PowerVCR, WinDVD Creator etc. Your Windows installation will come with the Microsoft DVR-MS mux, so this will at least be available to you.

Hi sub,

Sorry, its the capture device. It is not seen by the set-up program. I've tried to force it by selecting both of the freecom USB listed. I also tried adding one as described in various threads on the site. Spent alot of time doing that before posting my question.

Thanks for the fast reply.

If its not seen by the config app, then it means the drivers you're using doesnt match either of the definitions provided by other freecom owners in the past. There are two options open to you:

1) install different version of the freecom drivers and hope you stumble across ones that use the names previously provided by other freecom owners

2) or edit bda.ini to add a section that matches your specific variant of the freecom drivers. There is a page on the wiki that describes how to do this: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Hardw...aptureCard

If they didnt keep changing the driver names, this wouldnt be a problem.

Thanks Sub,

I tried earlier to add a new section to the BDA.ini but will have another go. Possibly understand better what is going on now. I'll post how I get on.

OK, I edited the BDA.ini and tried to configure. (by the way the check box to show devices attached to this machine finds nothing). After running set up I get the following error message GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured. .... (reason: Failed to locate configured BDA capture device)

It sounds like you've got the bda.ini section wrong. Zip and attach a set of logs and I'll take a look.
