General plugin question

I'm not sure if this has been answered before, but it's a more or less yes or no answer... What I was wondering, is about the compatibility of skins with plugins designed for other skins.
For example, the appearances plugin only seems to work with the Plain Jane skin. The 'themes' plugin, only works with the BaseSkin (Advisor) skin. And the 'Skin' plugin, only with the Community skin.
However, they appear in the other skins as buttons, if they're there. So for example, having installed the Advisor skin, I installed the Community skin and I got a Themes button, but if I click it, it tells me ERROR: could not find a part of the path ....bla. Because it's in the BaseSkin skin. Same thing with the Skins button in the Advisor skin.
So basically I can't use one in the other, but if I delete the plugin to get rid of the button, then I'm stuck with one.

Am I missing something, or is what I assume right, that my philosophy should be 'Pick only one skin'. Not that I'm complaining, but it would be nice to have all 4. (so far I have installed 4 in my newbie attempts to personalise my new gbpvr).

you can just disable the plugins you are not able to use with a skin in the plugins tab of the config tool, when you change your skin. that wont delete the plugin or change any of your settings, just prevent it from showing up in the main menu
