I tried installing it on my XP Professional machine. I'm getting identical behavior to when I tried it under MCE--it only attempts scanning 39 channels, and each of them show up as strength 0, quality 0. The patch made no difference.

I installed the OnAir software, and it picks up channels just fine. I told the OnAir software not to start up recording services so that it wouldn't conflict with GBPVR.

Any ideas?

It only scans those 39 channels because the channels to scan are listed in the driver file in the GB-PVR directory. I had to manually edit the file to make it scan channels 80-130 (which is the range in which my OnAir found channels for my cable).

It maybe that, but I was surprised it wasnt finding any channels, which is why I wanted to check his logs. I suspect its something else.

The full qam.ini included in the next release is attached.

Thanks Eric! Do you have Comcast? Do you recall the filename and exact folder?

Thanks,
Jeff

There is sometimes a few seconds between the post and the attachment appearing.

Well that seemed to do the trick, thanks! Now the only problem is that I don't get any video preview to help me map the channels, only a black box. Any ideas?

Also, if this was the problem with my MCE machine, do you think my original plan to keep MCE still recording with my existing analog tuner and use GBPVR as my digital QAM cable tuner/recorder with the OnAir tuner?

Thanks so much for all of your help!

Can you zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log immediately after doing a channel scan.

As long as you can convince MCE not to use the OnAir tuner, I cant see any reason you couldnt do this.

Thanks so much for all of your help. Here's the log. FYI, I tried blindly mapping two channels to play around with trying to fix the "black rectangle" problem.
