Maybe not the best description, but I think it covers what I have done

I use tftpd32 and this is what I have in my settings

DHCP server tab:
IP pool starting address: 192.168.1.123
Size of pool: 1
WINS/DNS server 0.0.0.0
Default router: IP of my router (from ipconfig)
Mask: 255.255.255.0

In the settings I set "Use Tftpd32 only on this interface" to 192.168.1.125 (IP of the NIC connected to the MVP (I use fixed IP))

On in the settings for the NIC used by the MVP I use 192.168.1.125 as IP and mask 255.255.255.0, I have levt the DNS server blank.
Uncheck QoS packet scheduler, file and printer sharing and client for MS networks.

Also in the windows firewall have have disabled protection for the NIC used for the MVP.

The rest of the stuff on my network is in a different subnet, 192.168.7.130--150.

I tried your (above) settings but the MVP could never make contact with the PC, the fact that tftpt32 showed both devices IP and MAC addresses I thought it would work.

I must have spent 3 to 4 hours on it, did you have everything else blank and only DHCP ticked?

This might be a silly question. Was the MVP turned on as windowz booted? To my experience it must have power from the wall wart otherwise windowz will not configure your NIC properly.

What is the output from "ipconfig /all"?
What is the output in the Events Viewer tab?

I have tried with the MVP switched on as the PC boots but it makes no difference.

ipconfig /all see attached

The MVP has the message "No streaming server found"

You mention "Default router: IP of my router (from ipconfig)" but I only see the IP of the PC which I have set.

Can you PM me some images of your tftpd32 showing settings etc?

The output from ipconfig looks the same as on my GBPVR box, with the exception of that I have two NIC's.

The settings that I use is in my previous post, as far as I know there is nothing else that I have configured. Also I would like to understand why it does not work, my setting might not be the full answer.

Can you see anything in the events tab?

When I power on my MVP it will display the startup screen with the five blocks at the bottom. First it will request a IP address after that it will downlod the dongel from GBPVR and reboot. After the the reboot it will request a IP address again. After the reboot my MVP searches for a GUI server, in this case GBPVR.

In the Events Tab you should se that the MVP gets a IP adress two times after a cold boot.

Can you connect with the Hauppauge software?

For good or bad xsilvergs is trying to mirror my setup. I use static IP on the MVP NIC as I can then configure tftpt32 so that it only replies to IP request on that interface. So the output from ipconfig shold be OK.

Just curious: Do you need to use a crosscable when you connect your nic directly to the MVP?

Hauppauge specifies a crossover cabel for a direct connection to the MVP.
