It should work with DirectTV if it's not HD. You'll probably want to feed the card from the DirectTV box via an s-video cable. You'll then need to change the capture source definition to use the s-video input and you'll need an IR blaster to change the channels on the DirectTV box. I believe it's all covered in the wiki.
If you want to record HD from it...no, it won't work.
I use a PVR150 with my DirecTV D10 box. One word of warning, the IRblaster is VERY dim. I had to aim mine directly at the IR receiver on the D10 not on its side with the adhesive they give you. It'll drive you nuts because you'll be looking at it stuck on the front of the DirecTV box blinking away and no channel changing is happening. A theory is that its because Hauppauge used cheaper red LEDs and not IR LEDs.
In the end, I built the serial cable to change channels and have been much happier with it.
