This is correct. And if you install VLC you will also have the ability to stream videos and music at various bitrates and sizes.....if you want to do this you need to install VLC and then open port 7648 and have your router forward it to the GBPVR PC. Make sure to open the ports 7647/7648 on the GBPVR pc as well.

Think that WMP 11 download is needed. gEd Wrote:I think that this may be because WMP cannot find a compliant mpeg codec. upgrading to WMP11 may not fix this. daviescr1 Wrote:Hi gED, WMP wants to download the whole file before it begins playing it. VLC will not do this. If you install VLC you will have a new button to Stream rather than Play or Download. If you Stream then WMP will work fine as well. But I must say....VLC still beats WMP for playing files.

If you could advise how you'd recommend going about doing this that'd be appreciated. Thank you .

daviescr1 Wrote:Hi UncleJohnsBand, Download VLC. Install it.....I just use the defualt install directory. During the install I select to associate all media file extensions that VLC supports to VLC. After it is installed start up VLC. Click on the settings menu option. Select Add Interface. Select Web Interface. Close VLC. Start EWA and go to the Config Tab. Set the VLC location to where you installed it. Mine looks like this: C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\Vlc\ Set stream player to VLC Check the box to open stream in external player. Here is a snapshot of how I have my stuff configured.
