I purchased the above card and have not been able to install it on Windows 2000 or XP home. The driver either locks up the PC on driver installation (XP) or on reboot (W2000).
I see some people have got the PVR 150MCE working but Hauppauge tech support insist that it will not work with W2000 or XP home, only XP MCE ?
I have tried all the drivers (both PVR 150MCE and PVR 150) from the Hauppauge and the shspvr websites.

I thought that this maybe an issue with the chipset that I had on the motherboard (SIS with AMD proc) so I tried the PVR 150MCE card in two different (Intel chipset , Celeron) systems with the same problems. I see Hauppauge have released several different drivers for the PVR 150MCE card.
Are there versions of this card that do not run on W2000 or XP ?

I'm planning to return the PVR 150MCE card to the supplier but I'll need to order another TV card for GB-PVR. Is the Leadtek PVR2000 (Leadtek Winfast PVR 2000 Hardware MPEG II DVD Encoder) card fully supported by GB-PVR ?
I ask this becuase I'd like the FM radio support and the PVR350 card are much more expensive.

I'm guessing its an issue with your machine - sorry, not much help I know.

I dont have a PVR150MCE, but I can confirm the PVR500MCE works fine on my XP installation, and I believe the PVR150MCE should work.

To be quite honest, I wouldn't buy the PVR2000. Some people are apparently using it with GB-PVR, but I dont own one, so if you have any problems you're probably on your own.

hmm, rock vs hard place...

Thanks for the quick response.
I also thought it may be an issue with my machine (Athlon 2400, PCChips M848 motherboard, ATI Rage Pro 128, 512 MB ram) so I tried it in another PC (Semperon 2200, PCCHIPS M863G motherboard, On board graphics, 256MB ram). As some people have reported problems with these card in AMD based systems I then tried the card in two Intel based systems with the same effect. The only other option I can see is that the card is faulty in some way.

Kind of a late response, but I have a 150MCE card and it's working fine. Do you have the latest drivers? You can also download the WinTV2000 application from Hauppauge's web site and see if it will work with the 150MCE...it should. If it doesn't, and you have the right drivers, the card may be defective.

My problem is that I can't get two 150MCE's to work. One at a time is fine, but I have problems with two (trying to record off one and watch live TV or record something else on the second).

Zed, your problem sounds unrelated to this posters question. I suggestion you post a separate new and provide all the details you can which are relevent to your problem.

Well, my intent was to assure the OP that the 150MCE card will indeed work with GB-PVR and that he might want to try it with the WinTV2000 app to verify that the card itself is good. I added my my issue as an after thought but you're right...it's probably not related. I'll start another thread about it altho I did send you some logs a while back but I think you were busy with the new release. I haven't had time to pursue it further but should be able to do so in a few days...

I am also having problems with the PVR150MCE here in PAL land.

I have found that I can get it to work fine when using the TV Tuner imput but if I use the s-video imput it locks/crash. Apparently NTSC models are fine.

I have been told that this is a driver problem and that Hauppauge have been made aware of it.

Does this throw any light on your problem?

p.ss I use Win2000
MSI FA-4 speedster, Pentium M 2.0, 2 gig memory ,nvidia 210, Samsung Ecogreen 1.5 Terabyte Hard Drive
