I installed a Hauppauge Nova-S Plus alongside my PVR500 card. I'm using the latest drivers for the card but whenever I try to watch a satellite channel I get "GB-PVR has encountered a promelm and needs to close". Using MyTheatre to watch the same channels works fine.

The error in gbpvrrecording service is:

26/12/2006 23:14:40.875 VERBOSE [7] Checking for other recordings using device: DEVICE:Hauppauge Nova-S-Plus:1
26/12/2006 23:14:40.875 VERBOSE [7] RenewLease finished (accepted - preview mode)
26/12/2006 23:14:53.296 VERBOSE [7] StopPreviewLiveTV()
26/12/2006 23:14:59.953 VERBOSE [7] Starting LiveTV for captureSource: 3 channel oid: 26 filename:
26/12/2006 23:15:45.031 ERROR [5] Found expired lease. Stopping recording.

Any ideas?

zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

I've been using DVB-S here without this problem.

Logs attached. I had this problem with the previous version also, so I did a complete wipe and reinstall of GBPVR with exactly the same results.

Thanks,

You'll need to temporarily disable the MVP servers, then reproduce and repost the logs. (otherwise I dont get PC logs)

Sub,

There you go. Sometimes I just get a black screen, or else a couple of seconds of video before it crashes.

I'm not really sure. I'm guessing there is something in the stream that PSI parser component doesnt like, that doesnt occur in the boardcasts I test with.

If you have access to a web server, we could try recording a transport stream file, which I can download and play here in the debugger to check it out.

I've never recorded a transport stream with a Nova-S Plus card, which is the only difficult part. Some manufacturers (like Twinhan etc) provide tools for recording the transport steam, but I dont think Hauppauge provide a tool that does this.

You could try doing it in GB-PVR but I'm not 100% sure it'll work for you - it should though:

First go in and try to watch a channel to reproduce the problem (which makes sure the device was tuned to that channel), then you'd need to go into the config app and set the BDA Multiplexer to the 'Transport Stream' option on the misc tab of the config app. In GB-PVR go into the Recordings screen and schedule a recording for one minute on that same channel. It should create a large file in your manual recordings directory.

OK, I did that but it just created a 0kb file.

Bugger. I'm not really sure which utilities exist that would help us record a transport stream with this device.
