Is anyone using floppydtv and mediamvp with good results?

Some time ago I purchased a floppydtv dvb-c. I use the Mediamvp to play files recorded with this device, but I keep having problems with skipping in these files. There seems to be something wrong with the timestamps. I've tried several muxes, but none of them seem to solve this problem. I also tried retime and mencoder but this doesn't improve the situation.

Is anyone playing files created with a floppydtv on the mediamvp with good results? If so, what muxer are you using?

I'm using FireDTV DVB-C for recording, with Cyberlink Mux v5.0.0.1307 mux, with MVP. Admittedly I'm not using the MVP in my live setup (now that I've got a client PC in the bedroom), but when I do play the recordings with my MVP during testing, they seem to play fine.

Thanks for your reply. At this moment I'm using the exact same mux and it's not working for me. I've even tested it with a file from some one else his system (also floppydtv). Could it be that the cable company is doing some strange thing with the data? It wouldn't be the first time in the Netherlands.

Yeah, potentially.

It might worth trying the ATI Mux.

Thanks again! I registered atidvcr.dll and unregistered the cyberlink mux. But now I can't seem to transcode the dvr-ms file to mpeg, nothing happens. The ATI mux doesn't show in the muxchecker. I found the same problem in http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=19990

Any ideas?

You need to leave the Cyberlink mux registered if you config dvr-ms to mpeg, since this needs to use the Cyberlink mux.

I record straight to .mpg files with the Cyberlink mux.

The ATI mux doesn't show in the muxchecker. I found the same problem in

Are you running the current v0.99.5 release? Older releases didnt check for the ATI Mux in the MuxChecker utility.

Sorry for the confusion. I'm recording from the floppydtv in mediaportal, since GB-PVR doesn't support encrypted channels yet. These files are dvr-ms and I try to watch them using GB-PVR and a mediamvp (I do record other stuff in GB-PVR with a PVR500 and PVR350 and really like this program).
I was using the cyberlink mux and thought you meant I had to replace it with the ATI mux. But now I think you're talking about the BDA Multiplexer on the Misc tab in the config app. So this won't work for me. If you have any other suggestions, I'd like to hear them. Thanks for all your help.

Hi Sub,

Just wanted to let you know I've added the floppydtv to my GB-PVR setup, but just for the only free to air channel there is on our cable. And this works just fine using the Cyberlink mux. So Mediaportal is probably not doing a good job here. Although I have tested this a few releases back in GB-PVR and that gave me the same problems I have at this moment with Mediaportal.

So I'll just have to wait for GB-PVR to support encrypted channels. Any new info on this? I know it's been asked for many times (also by me), but hey, I can always try, can't I?

I have no immediate plans for CAM support, but the new release does have multidec support which are being used by several people for watching encrypted channels.
