If your recording server is running 24/7 anyway, why not put it to good use?
I run Folding@home on all my computers. This Stanford University project uses spare CPU cycles to analyze protien "folding", Misfolding of protiens is a key contributor to many diseases. F@H runs at a low priority, so that recording quality will not be affected.
