The Cat’s Eye 164e uses 2 ATSC receivers but the analog doesn't do hardware mpeg2 encoding. It uses a software encoder for analog.

Cheers for the feedback CRasch

Quote:The AVerTV Purity 3D MCE 500 is not 2 AveryTV 250MCE but also a VIXS chipset like the Saber2020 and nVidia DualTV. Testing tomorrow.

Not taht I don;t believe you, but do you have a source for these, just so I can quote it? I ask as someone else mentioned what was written, so that's a conflict right there.

I have a purity 500 MCE and it says VIXS II right on the chip. I'll get pics up soon.
They even talk about it on bigbruin review and forums:

http://www.bigbruin.com/forum/about9302.html
I was hoping for the MPEG4 encoding myself. The VIXS II chipsets are able to do transcoding (like the DualTV in MCE)

It was confirmed with the PCAlchamey guys on the HTPC News forums.

Quote:We have a sample at pcalchemy.com, have had one for 6 months. Basically as an ATSC tuner card it works great, however since it is a hybrid design for NTSC (analog) it requires a software MPEG encoder. This is why we are selling it as an ATSC card only.

Will get the pics up soon. Sorry haven't been hanging around lately since the job change and studying for my certs. luckily school ended.

Was for the CatEye E164
It is a dual ATSC Card for digital but for analog it uses a software encoder.

Another card to add (really a network appliance)
Silicondust Engineering's HDHomeRun
It's a dual ATSC/QAM 64 & 256
They got it working with GBPVR

I use the M780 with BeyondTV however I have not tried yet with GBPVR hopefully will be testing it out this weekend. It should not be a problem seeing as how it includes the needed BDA drivers.
