Sometime my TV card doesn't start up right and it does't let me see any channel, so I have to turn of my PC (or reset it) and try again.
Is there a way to send a software reset command only to the TV card ?
Thank you for any advice.

Is your card seated properly in the PCI slot?

Yes it is.
After months of reading several forums I found my TV card Lifeview Flydvb-t Hybrid has problems to work with VIA chipset.
The only way is reset the card. I think. But any advice is wellcome.
Thank you

I dont really know what you mean by reset the card.

Maybe something like restarting the device drivers for this device? There is a microsoft utility called something like devcon that enables you to do this.

Thank you sub, i tryed "devcon" but it tell me "Restart failed". I tryed disable and enable but I got the same result. When I use the "status" parameter devcon tell me that everything goes well also when my TV card is blocked and it doesn't let me look at any channel. GBPVR (and all other TV programs) writes "NO CHANNEL DETECTED". As if antenna gain was setted to zero.
Have you any idea?

Sorry, but I suspect its the sort of thing you'd need to ask the manufacturer about.

For what it is worth....I see a similar symptom on my Twinhan very occasionally where I just get a black screen but the card is locked on tying to display that channel. To get around this I hve to exit GBPVR and restart the recording service (right click on task bar icon)

Then when I re-enter GBPVR all is good again.

When you check the tuner status does it say 'sleeping' or something else? (mine says "watching live TV....".blah blah)

Custom case made very quiet. Zalman CPU cooler.
Sits in rack with other HiFi.

ParaLED to show tuner activity.

Thank you wannabepvr for your help but my problem isn't a GBPVR problem but hardware: infact, I have te same error with GBPVR,POWERCINEMA,FlyDVB, ProgDVB, K!TV , with Windows XP64bit (that I use now) and XP32 (where my problem is worst).

Reading Wiki and forum I thoght to use the "WAKE.CMD". This is the way.
1) Testing the board trying to detect a channel.
2) On error ("no channel detect" ) use "devcon reset" to restart PC
Now my question: Can I use something to testing any channel and how ?
Thank you again.

Why not sell your card on Ebay and buy another more compatiable card for your system? This investigation and effort to try and fix something that may be impossible does not seem to be worth the bother.

Yeah, I'd have to agree. The amount of effort some people put in to get some difficult piece hardware working is just not worth the time.
