need help setting channels

Hi, I am trying to set my PVR up so that I can use the schedule guide to record channels. Sounds straight forward but it isnt as I need all the channels to be the same one (the one Sky TV is on) . I would like all the Sky channels to show in the schedule and be able to select a program from this to record and in turn this changes the channel on the satellite reciever (using the same signal that the sky secondary remote eye uses).
So in short the tuner on the card gets tuned to one frequency only (SkyTV)
The Schedule shows all Sky channels but when i select a program to record it will tune to the satellite channel only.
At the same time it changes the Skybox to the correct channel via same way the remote eye des it.

for free to air channels use there frequency eg

and for all your sky ones, use that frequency so

so under capture sources, edit your capture source, load your epg data in, then under the &quot;Source Channel&quot; use the same frequency for every single sky channel. thats how i did it, it works, you can use an external tuner option, but i found this way the easiest.

doesnt the epg just change back everytime it updates?

You should set up two captures source for the one card. The first one should be configured to use the tuner, and have the EPG for all the non-sky channels. The second one should be configured to use the &quot;Fixed channel, external tuner&quot; option and set the constant channel to the channel you use for viewing sky. For this second capture source its EPG should be setup to have the Sky channels, and you could also configure the USB-UIRT so that it changes channels automatically for you.

rather than having yet another ir unit is it possible to use the aerial cable like the SkyRemote extender unit (the one they advertise for controling it from another room)?

GB-PVR only natively supports the USB-UIRT, Actisys 200 or RedRat3. You may be able to something using girder. In this situation, GB-PVR sends channel commands to the girder software, which you can then configure do whatever is required.

no it doesnt change back. you can do it either way, i just found using one capture source the easiest way to do it.
