*prays to the PVR gods that Sub will add support for these CableCard devices soon*
Time Warner's DVR sucks ass, but with them moving a lot of channels off of analog to digital only, my days of using GBPVR to record cable tv are numbered without one of these puppies (hint hint hint ;-) ) Brian

Well upon further reading, it doesn't look like you will be able to support it at all Sub. So many damn restrictions, OCUR compliant BIOS, activation codes, blah blah blah. Damn cable companies.

Brian_W Wrote:*prays to the PVR gods that Sub will add support for these CableCard devices soon*I think we're at the mercy of the gods when it comes to cablecard support in GB-PVR. I suspect Microsoft will allow third party apps like GB-PVR to use it, but only when you recording using DVR-MS mux so it can add some new special DRM for these types of recording, and may also put some restrictions on your machine components to decided if this can be played on your PC (secure digital path). Everyone had pretty tight lipped as to what cablecard will mean exactly to PC solutions. Still early days, so we'll just have to wait and see.

Regular PCI is all I have, and the 1600 is $69.99 After Rebate from Circuit City right now. I believe I will pick one up tonight. Sure hope I can get it working with GBPVR! |
