After looking round the forum and in the config util, Im not quite sure about this and would appreciate some help in clarifying it.

Im in the UK and have a Telewest analog TV feed which goes into the decoder box. However, can I take the signal before it goes into the decoder and with a converter from the satellite connector to aerial, feed it straight into my PVR150, select cable in the config app under the Recording Source | Tuning tab, then be able to receive all the channels that I can through the decoder?

Thanks

It depends if they transmit scrambled analog signals or in the clear analog signals. Usually in the US you'll get the first 90 or so channel in the clear, allowing exactly what you suggest. Outside of the US its much less likely. You'll probably find Telewest scramble their channels (sync-suppress, inversion etc) to stop people from viewing their channels without a valid set top box.

With Telewest it depends on where you live as to what channels you will see in the clear. I'm in North London and I used to get about 9 or so channels including Sky One in the clear, but now I just get the following 5:

BBC1
BBC2
ITV
C4
BBC News 24

Just plug it in and scan to see what you can. The other alternative is to connect your set top box via a Scart to S-Video lead (depending on your TV Card) and in conjunction with a Red Eye Serial lead to change channels you can record anything you like. Of course you can only record what your watching that way though. But useful for when you are out and about.

I had to use a red eye which can be found at
