I use Jeff's Video Archiver add on. I have a lot of stuff in it and I want to consolidate a few things (like all the Christmas and holiday shows in one folder). I don't really care about losing program descriptions since things are named such that's it's obvious. When I shuffle a few things around the videos menu doesn't update even after restarting the recording service or running the archive updater exe. What should I be doing?

To force a rescan, press F11 on the keyboard (GO on the remote). That said, if GBPVR is running while you move the files (and assuming the drives are all locally attached storage), you should not have to do anything -- they should move automatically in real-time. The video archive plug-in hooks into Windows file create, move and delete events and should track things for you. If the files are moving onto or off of a network drive that should work too, but it often takes longer for the moves to be noticed. If you look in your archiver-MVP.log or archive-PC.log file in the Jeff subdirectory you should see messages being posted related to the files you are moving.

Ok, my problem was having GBPVR not running.

I seem to be mostly ok now. The only issue I have is that all the shows in the folder I created now just show up as "Recorded at ...". I looked in the database and the ArchiveTable and FileMap entries look right to me.

Sorry for what are probably idiot questions.

Hey Jeff, I had a similar question or suggestion for Video Archive or maybe even GBPVR itself if Sub has any interest. Big Grin Is there any way to have the display sort by category or genre? I have several hundred recordings on my systems, and simply having them sort alphabetically is beginning to be somewhat of a pain. Just like CPenney, I have a lot of Christmas movies or other such categories that I would love to put in a single folder and only see those titles when I want to, rather than having to scroll through them every day. Any ideas on how I could do this, or would this be a cool new feature for the next release of Video Archive/GBPVR?

Thanks for all the great work. My family loves both GBPVR and Video Archive!!

For DVDs the video archive does offer a display by genre option. now that GBPVR supports this for recordings too I suppose I could add it to the recordings display (although I have run out of remote keys to map to this).

With respect to the earlier question regarding things says "Recording on..." for their name, that means that the EPG didn't have a subtitle for the recording so the plug-in uses the recording time as the name.
