Control AV equipment

If I could stay inside GBPVR and control my Sony 400 Disk DVD player without having to leave the program that would be great.
I could create a table with the list of movies and then use GBPVR to ir blast the DVD player to select the movie.

I alraedy have the equipment so there's no need to buy 15 hard drives and take the time to rip 400 DVD's just so i can stay inside the program.

Am I off base here?

I'd be happy to find some reasonable way to at least display the DVD's and what slot they are in, even if you left the program to play it. A txt,doc,xls,db,xml it almost doesn't matter what format.
