Before disputing this, I'll run some tests now with XMLTV to double check, then reply back soon.

10:40 - 11:00 Show13 !!! - old
10:45 - 11:00 Show24

This exact situation happens to me every Monday (EPG is updated automatically, every day at 07:00 AM), I have 2 shows reocurring on daily timeslots, except they are not aired Saturdays and Sundays. So, to correct this, every Monday morning I have to cancel all the scheduled reocurring shows, empty EPG manually, reload it, and schedule the shows from the scratch. I got used to live with it, but I'd really appreciate a fix/solution. Thanks

After looking at this, using XMLTV file and manual edits between updates, and trying both the 'update EPG' in System screen and automated upgrade, I have some info.

1) With the 'complete EPG reload' option enabled, the automated daily EPG update will correctly empty the EPG prior to saving the new listings.
2) With the 'complete EPG reload' option enabled, the System screen's Update EPG function will not empty the EPG prior to saving the new listings. I've corrected this for the next release.

When you -UpdateEPG and -OnlyUpdateEPG command lines are probably doing the same as (2) above.

I stand by those earlier comments though. Users should not be using the -OnlyEmptyEPG and -OnlyUpdateEPG command lines. You should be using the automated daily EPG update if at all possible, and this will currently be emptying the listings correctly. The next release will correct the issue with these other methods ignoring the 'complete EPG reload' option.

Again, I have to challenge you on this. I left GB-PVR running, and set the other file, with different program schedule than one in TV Guide, to reload automatically with the 'complete EPG reload' option enabled.
Nothing happened until I restarted GB-PVR. Overlapping didn't occur either, but the new program was not loaded as well. After restart, everything was OK with TV Guide.
I'll run some more tests, but I have to wait on the hour for this one with automated EPG update.

In my opinion, my problem will be solved if application could have been restarted from command line. (i.e. stopped, cause it can be started from there)

zvm,

you don't have to leave gbpvr running to do recordings. It is the "GB-PVR Recording Service" that is doing the recordings.

To record favorite program I need to leave the application (GB-PVR) running all the time, right? (or at least at times when show runs)

Thanks Wim! I asked that indirectly in previous post, but I didn't get the answer. That means it is enough to leave GBPVR tray running (with all what it includes)!?
That could solve the problem if TV Guide is updated correctly (and it should be that way). If recording is done without gbpvr running, then my script will do the job.
I am new to this application, so I didn't have enough time to test all the options (or at least the most interesting to me).

Since last post I came across to another issue. I tested automated EPG update. I can schedule it only on a full hour (i.e. 9:00, 10:00, 11:00....). I run it at 9:00 and described what happened in previous post. Then I scheduled it for a next hour: 10:00. Nothing happened. I rescheduled it to 11:00, then to 12:00, 13:00 (1:00 PM)....you guess - nothing happened! EPG simply didn't change at all - neither old one was deleted, neither new was loaded.
Is it possible there is some date stamp that prevents multiple daily running of this service?

I don't even think you need GBPVRtray.exe running. Just the GBPVRrecordingservice.exe is all that's needed. I believe.

I just tested my script. It works fine if gbpvr is not running at the beginning of the script. The script opens gbpvr in last step(only for test purposes!), and correct TV Guide is displayed.
So, if I don't have to leave gbpvr running to do recordings, my problem is solved - actually, it didn't exist. Smile
But it seems I opened some other issues.

I have GBPVRTray.exe in my startup. You believe I could replace it with GBPVRrecordingservice.exe!? It seems logical, though.
Is it even necessary to put it in startup (no problem if it is), or I can set somewhere else this service to start along with Windows?

GBPVRrecordingservice.exe is a Windows service, it is started along with Windows. You don't have to log in for it to run ...
