It is a GE - 22dB Video Signal Amplifier (AV23341), I'm sure there are better ones out there.

thanks Niebs... I took a shot at it when I stopped by tonight... I had that one in my hands... should have held on to it.... darn first instinct...
I ended up getting an inline GE as well, digial ampliphier... that one does not work at all.. just to verify... before heading back... can you sometime tune in 17-3 (TPT Kids), watch it for a bit, and see if you noticed any issues with stream? ... Thanks if you can... I get glitches every 10 secs to 2 minutes... where the Stream is Unstable .. my signal strength is anywhere from 29.89 to 32.8 dbs ... anytime it starts to drop below 32.. its interupted.. its really bad on this channel.. but other channels do it as well... kinda of a downer on the whole idea thanks again.. -Tim Code: System Specs:

did you notice any glitch in sound ..?? .. if you could test one more thing for me.. using the onAir application.. there is a options with multiple tabs.. one of the tabs is Other .. in there can you check the box for "Display Stream Status on the screen"
then watch any channel for awhile.. and look to see if you see a "Stream Unstable" message... thats the one I have been getting, while noticing the glitches... (note, for me it usually occurs after 9 am ... more often, just when I want to start recording the shows for my son) when that message flashes up on the screen, there is a glitch in the sound or frames are dropped for me... I had comcast out to boost the signal but they claimed everything was fine.. so I am wondering if my tuner is having difficulty.. but wanted to see if you have same problems as well... thanks again.. Anything else I can check?

Hello everyone,
I stopped receiving subscription notifications via email until just recently. (I think it was my fault, not the forum.) I just read all the pages that I missed, and here are my comments: - - - - - - - - - - bdg825 Wrote:it seems to work perfectly with GBPVR except that I have to run the supplied OnAir GT software before I can the GB-PVR to see any channels.Ben (bdg825), This is a known issue. I think this is a problem on our end-- something is not being 'set' to QAM mode appropriately. (This 'bug' affects TSReader too, so it isn't a GB-PVR problem.) If we find out what is happening, I'll let you know. bdg825 Wrote:Additionally, the onair program shows a signal strength between 33 and 30 db depending on the channel. The tuner's minimum is 31dB for 256QAM channels. - - - - - - - - - - sub Wrote:I think the TSReader app can record them, but I'm not 100% it supports QAM.sub (and others), TSReader supports QAM on the OnAir GT in recent versions. However, an easier way would be to give sub a 'debug' stream from the OnAir software. Simply click [Add CH] in the channel manager, and choose the 'debug' option. It will create a 10 second clip of the transport stream. - - - - - - - - - - sub Wrote:P is the program number (some times referred to as service number or service id)sub (and others), Users of the OnAir HDTV tuners would have to use TSReader to see the PIDs/PMT, etc. - - - - - - - - - - SniperDude Wrote:Nope.. thanks ...Tim (SniperDude), Do you have another computer to try it on? It could be software/hardware causing problems that manifest themselves in high-intensity operations (like viewing HD.) Does the red light on the tuner 'flicker' when the glitches occur? Do you have all the updated drivers for your computer? (Video card, chipset/USB, audio)? Have you tried a Clean boot of XP? - - - - - - - - - - Thanks, - Ryan Pertusio AutumnWave Technical Support OnAir Solution North America http://www.autumnwave.com/

One other note,
The OnAir HDTV Program (since v3.0) includes a 'Remote Control' program update. It allows you to use your OnAir remote with 3rd party programs. We've included a sample 'KeyMap' for GB-PVR in the download. We based it on the Wiki keyboard shortcuts. Right-click the 'Remote control' program's 'green dot' on your screen, and choose 'Options'. You can set the GB-PVR remote control KeyMap there. Additionally, you can modify it to suit your needs.
