Sub, here are the logs you requested. I cleaned the config log then ran a scan.

Ignore the "Unexpected error parsing scan information" at the bottom. I cancelled the scan after I got what I needed.

One particular channel for you to look at is physical channel 14, virtual 109.11

It looks like GB-PVR is receiving the channel info twice, once after it switches to the next channel. So it thinks that it is getting the info for physical channel 15.

Sorry, can you give me a little detail about your problem?

I was specifically asking 'jetgraphics' for his logs so I could look at his lack of video problem, but I'm happy to look into your problem aswell. I've looked at the logs where it is scanning channel 14, the problem isnt obvious to me.

ah, I see what you mean 109.11 is being found on both channel 14 and 15.

You could try temporarily creating the following registry setting:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\devnz\LogPsiProcessing=2(DWORD)

Then do a scan, then attach the GB-PVR config logs and the c:\psi.log log. This should give me an indication. I suspect its something to do with the fake tables jafa is producing - since GB-PVR clears all its channel lists after submitting the new tuning request.

Actually ,having typed this, one thing came to mind...maybe the HDHomeRun tuning request is happening asynchronously, unlike other BDA drivers, meaning for a short time after tuning the new channel the HDHomeRun continues to transmit the old data.

This is just a recreation of his problem. The reason he is not getting video is because GB-PVR detects the virtual channel on the wrong physical channel.

An example would be the channel I mentioned above. Physical channel 14, Major 109, Minor 11

If I run the "Map digital channels to EPG channels" scan it finds 109.11 but if I click on it, nothing is displayed.

If I go ahead and map that to a EPG channel then back out and look at the tuning request string, it shows a tune request of T:15,109,11 when it should be T:14,109,11. Since there is no T:15,109,11 the HDHomeRun tunes to 15,110,10 (my first virtual channel in physical channel 15).

jetgraphics audio but no video problem stems from this. If my audio pid for 15,110,10 is the same as 14,109,11 then I get audio but the video pids may be different, so no video gets displayed.

Edit: sorry, you realized it while I was typing this

I suspected something like this may be the case, but I'm still learning.

Here are the logs with the psi.log included. Again I cleared them before doing a scan and stopped the scan after it passed the problem point.

I'm pretty sure my thoughts above are correct, so I've sent an email to Nick to ask him. If Nick cant think of an easy way to fix this, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to come up with something (though its not great time midway between release - since its hard for me to do patches now).

Nick thinks thats probably the case and is making a change to correct it.

If you have to put a fix in GB-PVR, I'm sure it can wait till the next release.

I'm sure I speak for *most* people when I say that we can fix the tuning string ourselves for now, rather than delay a new release. Smile

On a side note: I used to respect you as a programmer. But then I started learning C# to work on my old plugin for this device (now no longer needed with the BDA drivers). Now I think I'd have to bow down and kiss your feet should I ever meet you. Big Grin

I don't think most people realize the complexity of your software and how amazing it really is. Thanks for the wonderful work!!

Edit: I type WAY too slow.

That is not the source of the error. As posted on HDHR site, the channel mapping was correct. However, I may have discovered the source of the bug.
On the misbehaving machine, the Video Adapter Model is a VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP chipset on mainboard. [Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. K8M800-8237]

On another machine, with identical processor and mainboard, but with a separate VGA Card (nVidia), the GB-PVR does display video *(playback selection VMR9).

The misbehaving machine will not recognize VMR9, despite Direct X being installed. The playback selection, Overlay Manager, does not display any video and shows the error message. However, VMR7 displays a skewed mess of colors, without the error message.

Any ideas?
