Something strange seems to be going on with Zap2it site. Everything was fine until yesterday. Now all of a sudden when GBPVR attempts to download the EPG update, I get the following error:

2/1/2007 8:59:24 PM.793 ERROR [5] Error UpdateEPG()'ing: System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.

Is anyone else getting this error?

Thanks,
Kevin

Have you logged into your zap2it account at labs.zap2it.com and checked if you have to complete a survey?

I had to update my account after 3 or 4 months. Zap2It stopped downloading so I went on to the website and logged in. I had to click some button to continue using my account. After that it worked great again!

Hmmm, I thought the same thing so I logged into Zap2it and extended my account another 3 months (it hadn't expired yet, but was about to in a couple of days). But, I'm still having the same problem.

Does anyone know the exact url that GBPVR uses to actually download the EPG? I'd like to try and hit it directly to see what's going on. Nothing else has changed on my system, and I'm not getting any other errors that indicate what's wrong.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Kevin

I was having the same problem with 99.05 and I went back to 98.13 and that corrected the zap2it issue.

It Looks like the 99.05 version has issues with zap2it.
I am going to wait for next update to 99.05.

GBPVR version 99.05 gives me a gzip header error everytime I do an EPG update and I know that my zap2it user account and password work.

There was a fix for this in the survival guide

OK, well this is strange. Since several of you told me that it was working for you, I decided to try my other account. Bang, it went right through. So, I logged back on to Zap2it and discovered that even though my account wasn't expired, they had lost all of my settings!!

I've been using that account for a over a year, and hadn't touched it for a couple of months, yet they suddenly lost all my settings. Go figure.

Anyway, thanks for the help. Incidentally, 99.5 is working just fine for me, so hoggie, I'm not sure what to tell you other than check out the survival guide. I've seen that mentioned several times as I was searching for an answer to my problem. Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Kevin

Thanks Carlito.

I download the survival guide patch and now for the newbie dumb question.

How do I apply the patch?
I copied the dll to the gbpvr folder and that did not work. I also tried the plugin folder. Where do I copy the dll?
