sometimes, on my recordings, i get a wrong timing mpeg file, especially on long recordings.

for example - recording of 1.5 hour, is shown as 19 minutes. ihave alot of problems on skipping forward and backwards (cause what is shown as 19 minutes, is actually 1.5 hours), editing and encoding to xvid.

why is it happening? is there a way to fix it?

Sounds like your timestamps are broken.

Are you using a Hauppague PVR-150? If so, there is a sticky about this in the community announcements forum.

Yeah, that'd be my thoughts as well. Its most like the Hauppauge PVR150 timestamp bug.

Yes. That sticky thread had updated drivers and registry settings that combined would stop this occuring.

I dont know the full details. I think it was something pretty lowlevel to do with interrupts. Probably no relationship to watching while recording.

There was some utility people were running to correct the time issues on previous recordings, but I cant remember what it was. A forum search should tern up some details.
