This is odd, I set it to record a clearQAM channel, and this time around, I left the default quality level be medium. I know that setting isn't supposed to do anything for digital recordings, however, in this case, it produced a .ts file that is 704 x 480 1,206,745,680 bytes for a hour show.

The issue is, when using VLC to play it, it doesn't show a duration at all. It has 0:00/0:00, but it IS the full hour show.
Using a different player, it shows 10:43 as the length.
AVIcodec shows:
Video : 1.10 GB, 14821 Kbps, 29.970 fps, 704*480 (4:3), = MPV Decoder, Supported
File : 1.12 GB (1.12 GB), duration: 0:10:43, type: DSH, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 98 %

the other show I record (different station) with a quality setting of high, had:
Video : 1.24 GB, 2944 Kbps, 29.970 fps, 1920*1080 (16:9), = MPV Decoder, Supported
File : 5.41 GB (1.41 GB), duration: 1:00:47, type: DSH, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 98 %

Any ideas why the duration got screwed up?

This is using TS Mux on windows 7.

Does GB-PVR show approximately the correct duration on these files?

With the TS Mux recordings you get whatever timestamps are in the broadcast, and some times these arent reliable, which can cause some players to report incorrect durations.

The quality setting isnt even looked at for digital recordings. Its only used for analog recordings.

It shows 1 hour in the recordings section. and when I play it, the green bar does show 1 hour+- a few secs, it fluctuates.

It is just odd that VLC, and the other players all say the duration is 0 or 10:43.

For the quality settings, I guess you can disable that for digital stations in the next release. Smile

Getting way OT, but, is there a way to invoke gb-pvr to record something not using the main interface?
