Hi,
I've notice while trying to watch live TV that the picture will be
a little grainy and every now and then during fast action small lines
will appear on the screen and then disappear.
Is it that I don't have a fast enough computer for live TV?
Is there anything I can do to help out my picture?

This sort of problem would typically relate to the video decoder you're using, or the quality of the tv out on your video card, or the choice of video renderer (try overlay instead of VMR).

I just have basic cable and it comes directly out of the wall to "TV IN Coaixal" of the
TV Tuner card. I then watch TV through my LCD which is a normal VGA hookup
GB-PVR works great during recording just has this issue on
Live TV. I will try Overlay and see if that helps. Now when you say Overlay, I am assumeing
that it's called " Overlay Manager " located within the Playback Tab of Config. Is this correct?
Just change it from VRM to Overlay. What is the difference in VRM and Overlay.
I don't know much about this stuff but would like to learn the difference. Any other recommendations if this
if it doesn't solve the problem.....

On a quick note, is there a way to kill the splash screen at startup of the program....
thank you

Sub....
I tried the overlay option but didn't see any changes.
It still has the same issues....... Would you say my
video card just can't handle it?

As I mentioned above, it usually the video decoder you're using, or the quality of the tv out on your video card, or the choice of video renderer. In this case you've ruled out the last of these, so its probably one of the other two.

For testing I'd try viewing it on a monitor, rather than tv via video card tv out, then try various video decoders (nvidia, cyberlink etc) combined with Overlay/VMR to see what looks best to you.

Thanks Sub..... I try a different decoders and see if that helps.
I have never hooked it up to my TV, I'm watching it through my
LCD monitor so I can rule that out as well.

Hopefully, I'll be able to solve it.......
Appreciate you helping me out....

Its probably not what you're seeing, but I have to mention that some LCD monitors are reknowned for being blurry with moving video. Try the decoders.

that largely depends on the response time of the monitor, and various other factors, which you can really look into somewhere like toms hardware guide.
