if you send me a smaple itunes playlist and the location they are stored (since many m3u, wpl use relative paths in the file location not the absolute, so i can check that it works), ill see what i can do.

so if playlists are stored C:\my music\playlists\ just send me that text, just need to know the location. just pm me it.

heres the updated gbpvr media experience so it will work with the new my music release. i couldnt upload it to the wiki because of the file size and also i cant add attachments in announcements posts.

this zip just includes the updated folders. just the onscreenkeyboard and mymusic folder are included, if you want the full skin get it from the wiki, then add this update.

Well, it's more than a playlist, more akin to a database of your music collection. Because it has all this information it enables you to create smart playlists - these are automically generated based on criteria you specify. It's the smart playlists that I'd really like to be able to access in My Music.

Unfortunately, as discussed in the the link KingArgyle provided, the smart playlist info is encoded in Base64. I've not yet be able to decipher the information stored there and haven't found anywhere that can tell me what it means.

Actually, ignore my last comment. Even though the criteria for the smart playist stored in the xml, it also contains a list of tracks for that playlist (I guess this is updated each time itunes runs, or the smart playlist changes).

Reven, do you still want a copy of my iTunes XML file, or has what you seen so far put you off?

well the most im going to do with any playlist format, is just to read filenames in and play them in that order (of course you can shuffle them once its playing) but thats it. not going to take advantage of the itunes format, so theres not much point to using them. that said, if you want to read those itunes playlists in and play those files i will add itunes to the supported playlist format, but it would be best to read them in once and save them as standard m3u (will load quicker).

if you want support like that, send me a sample itunes file, well just attach it here.

That's all I want - read only. I've no interest in any other application amending the playlists - that's what I've got iTunes for!

I can't upload the xml right now, I'm at work with a crappy internet connection. Will do it later when I get home.
