I have an Aopen 915gmm HFS 1gig of memory and a Nvidia 7300LE. With my FloppyDTV card I can pick up the BBC High Definition channel. I am using PowerDVD trial as my decoder.

Unfortunately the image is jerky. I currently have a 1.5Ghz Penitum M processor with 1meg cache which I could upgrade to 2.13ghz with 2meg of cache. Has anyone got experience with the Pentium M and HDTV would such an upgrade be successful.

I have a Gateway Solo1400 with 1.7P4Mobile, when I connected my OnAir USB GT to it, I found I needed to install a USB2.0 adapter (as mine didnt come with it).. after that.. it played the 720p HD content without a big problem.. however it was able to use the DxVA with the ATI video onboard... but 1080 was too much for it...

but as I looked this post over a little more.. you are not talking laptop are you... does the 7300LE have accelleration in it... and does the PowerDVD decoder use it? ....

What is happening? CPU maxing out? is your signal strong enough?
note I am in the US, but I started replying as if this was a notebook computer

sorry..

Unfortunately the BBC HDTV stuff is an entirely different beast from US HDTV stuff (H264 MPEG-4 vs MPEG-2), and the requirements are quite different.

I've yet to see anyone claiming totally smooth playback of the BBC HDTV trial channel, regardless of app. The CPU requirements for it seem to be very high, and none of the available video decoders seem to quite be ready.

You really need a duo2core or x2 chip from my readings to get smooth playback.
I have recorded BBCHD on a amd 2800+ chip then re-encode to mpeg2 720p using mediacoder which my cpu can cope with.
