ZProcess: Switching Transcoders from the couch

A little while ago, I added code to ZProcess so that it would toggle between ffmpeg and mencoder and ffmpeg and so it can be called from the MVP screen.

Also, I added code so that you could toggle between on and off for the new, but unsupported GB-PVR feature of transcoding ALL video (including MPGs)...

Here's how to add the custom tasks in GB-PVR...

In GB-PVR's Configuration tab, Click add task

Then fill in the info, paying attention to the arguments:

• RestartMVPserver
  
• ToggleTranscoder
  
• StopAllTranscodes
  
• MvpTranscodeAllVideo

Browse to ZProcess.exe and select it...

After you have finished, it's important to close the Configuration and then open and close it one more time to save the settings. (I know it sounds strange, but it's something that is either a bug in GB-PVR or accepted as regular behavior.)

That is interesting. I have had a long standing and unresolved problem with the Config getting stuck the first time around, then being OK the next restart. I wonder if that is related, although mine seems to be that it can't shutdown the GBVPR Service. I don't bother looking to fix it as (a) I'm the only one and (b) I don't have time and © Sub can't isolate it and (d) I don't restart the Config that mcuh anyway, at least not when I'm not installing plugins or beta testing :-)

Oops, sorry I only have "Soft" delete permissions i.e. leave a "deleted message", like yours ...:-(
