Hi, bit of newb so not sure whether or not this is a stupid question?

I've gone through the tuning assistant and noted down the channels it has found. What i'm confused about however, is how do I match these channels to set up in gb-pvr. i.e. I know that the tuning assistant found a channel on 37, but how do I know which this channel relates to?

Hope that makes sense!

Cool

Don't feel bad...I asked the same question the other day.

Click in the Tuning Request box opposite the channel you want to map. You'll get a drop-down box with the channels it found. Click on the appropriate one and it'll put the tuning parameters in the box.

Are you in the US? If so, then you shouldnt have to do anything.

If you're somewhere else in the world, then your channels are in pretty much random places, so you have to tell GB-PVR how to find it. To do this you need to start the config app, and edit your capture source. You'll see a list of the channels you imported from your EPG source. Next to each of these channels you need to enter a channel number that represents the frequency the channel is transmitted on. If you dont already know these frequncy/channelnumbers, then you can run the tuning assistant to help you find them. All you can really do it watch each channel for a short while to determine which one it is.

Because he mentioned the 'tuning assistant', I think he has a analog card like PVR150 etc, so this is unlikely to be relevent to him.

Apologies for the lack of detail.

I'm in the UK and using a Hauppage USB2 PVR2. I'm also using XMLTV EPG.

So I assume there's no way of matching the channels then. Maybe there listed on the web somewhere. I'll have a search around.

Cheers!

GB-PVR cant do it automatically because it has no way of knowing whats frequency each channel is on.

As described above, you can do it manually by spending a few minutes in the tuning assistant.
