I just happened to be sitting in the same room as my GBPVR server when I say an error dialog pop up. The recording service had crashed. GBPVR was streaming to an MVP at the time, but other than that the PC wasn't in use (other than whatever background things Windows does).
The system event viewer didn't seem to helpful, but had this to say:
