I found the option under gbpvr settings to have livetv displayed in the normally black windows at startup. however, after I watch livetv or watch a recording, and go back to the menu, it disappears and goes black again with the status displayed. is there any way I can have it show all the time or toggle it?

I think he wants livetv to be playing all the time, like on a cable box

If so, sorry it doesnt work that way. Live TV is one of the things you can do, but its not always doing it.

no - you know the black box that is next to the menu, that usually says something like "Next Recording: Boston Public 8:30pm etc...".

I want to have livetv in that box all the time. can it be done?

No.

If you were watching live tv or video and pressed the 'home' button, then it will switch to the video inset mode with whatever you're watching in that window - but if you stop playback or live tv, then it'll go back to the main menu with nothing playing in the inset window.
