Let me start by saying I have a very limited knowledge of what goes on under the hood of GBPVR, but I installed it (1.4.7) a few days ago and got it working with the terrestrial freeview here in NZ very quickly.

However since installing Airfoil (which I've subsequently deleted) to enable audio streaming via airport express there is now no sound output from GBPVR to my computer speakers. Other programs eg itunes outputs sound fine. The video output is fine too. Seems like the airfoil has somehow disabled gbpvr audio??

What other info would be helpful? Windows Vista, Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1200 (Model 71xxx, Hybrid DVB-T)

Thanks for any help - Mike

It looks like you've got ffdshow selected as your HE-AAC decoder. I'm fairly sure this decoder cant be used for HE-AAC.

Install the monogram aac decoder from http://blog.monogram.sk/janos/2009/03/08...oder-0960/ and select it as the HE-AAC decoder then you should get audio.

Thanks for the suggestion sub - I see monogram AAC Decoder in the drop down list for Advanced Codec/HE-AAC Decoder and have selected it (without actually downloading a copy from the site you gave) and now it's clearly listed when I reopen the config... BUT ... no audio output.

I suspect it was that airfoil that broke it - could that be possible and if so how? Or do I have to do something else to bump off ffdshow (which isn't actually list as one of the codec options in config)

Why don't you see what your playback device is set to in windows?
Maybe the default playback (audio renderer) is set to something strange

Can you post your logs again so I can confirm that decoder is being used?

OK - not quite sure how to install decoder - google search results suggest copying it to windows / system 32 folder then typing regsvr32 mmaacd.ax at command prompt. Is this right?

If you're on Vista/Win7, start a command problem with 'run as administrator', change to the directory with mmaacd.ax, and run:

regsvr32 /u mmaacd.ax
regsvr32 mmaacd.ax
