hardware and software card

Hi,

I want to know if it's possible that GBPVR can work with one hardware encoder card and one software encoder card simultaneously?

There is no support for software encoder cards.

Yes I know but if I install the WDM Recording Plugin Can I use both card?

Yes, if you're lucky. Most people cant get that plugin to work though.

Yes, you can do it. If you watch a lot of live tv, make sure your hardware card is listed last in "capture sources" so it uses that one for live tv. Of course this means this means that for recording shows, it will select your software card first.

I had 2 hardware cards and had the software card also, but ran into problems doing simultaneous recordings where the recording would "fracture" - err, meaning that it would record for a while, then start a new recording. In other words, when you look in the directory for the recording, you see:

somefile.mpg
somefile1.mpg
somefile2.mpg

I suspected that it had something to do with disk I/O but ultimately couldn't figure out the problem. I found a cheap hardware card (MAUI III) and put the software card in my test machine.

Usualy I don't look live tv. I only record tv shows.

Then I'd list the device that has the best quality of recording first.

I can only put my software card into preview mode. On capture mode I have no video and no sound and it wont record.
