Hi,
I have been using the mediamvp for a while now, but I cannot for the life of me get video from DVD's to work right.

I just tried the DVD2MPEG plugin. It made an mpeg file but the audio is about 2-3 seconds behind(on both the MVP and the PC). I also retried the mplex step. I have tried many different programs and methods. I have searched forums and followed 'how-to guides'. No matter what I do there is always something wrong with the end result. The closest I have gotten: on the PC all worked but on the MVP sound with no picture. That was with Auto GordianKnot.

At this point I just want to get an mpeg that can play back on the MVP. I don't care how big it is, and I would be willing to pay for a program that can really do it.

I know my PC is capable:
AMD64 3200+
512mb RAM

Thanks for any help!!!

P.S. mpegs made from analog video capture do work perfectly.

If you look at the DVD2MPEG.log file it will tell you what tome adjustment it made to the audio. If none is shown there could be a bug. Let me know. Also, just to be sure, you are using the latest from

Jeffthe wiki site not the one from the GBPVR plug-ins page, right? There was an update made to the wiki version to correct time delay in some cases.

Have you checked the settings in the config.xml file in the main GBPVR directory?

DVD Shrink can also be set to save the file as mpeg2 from a DVD. It's main purpose is to backup your DVDs and does a lot more to say.. and it's faster!
I used DVDShrink to copy an episode of my Seinfeld DVD. I couldn't find a way to "save" the VOB files as mpg so I just renamed it .mpg. Double clicking on it bring up WMP where it plays fine. When I play it on my MVP using GBPVR I get the picture, but no sound.

Any thoughts?

This is precisely the purpose of the DVD2MPEG plugin.

You're hearing no audio because the MVP cant play the AC3 audio track contained in your renamed VOB file. One step in DVD2MPEG process converts the AC3 audio to a standard MPEG I Layer II audio track, which the MVP can play.

But do try to get the plug-in working with the author, otherwise give DVD Shrink a try and it's freeware.

I use DVD shrink non-stop, but never had the need to save a DVD to an MPEG2 - Tipster, are u saying u can archive a DVD direct to a single MPEG2 file with DVD Shrink ---[Image: rock.gif]

VERY GOOD if this can be done? R u sure?
