Thanks. I really have no need for my PVR box, as I run Win2k3 there anyway. Where it could be useful is in providing support to family across my VPN. I probably won't bother installing it though.

I got a free Vista Business OS and am trying GBPVR on it. I've had a few problems. It's hard to find the right codecs to get both live tv and the DVD to work. GBPVR stops working sometimes according to Vista. Funny thing is.....it's still running in the background with the vista window in front. It only stops when I click the "resolve problem" button or just try closing the window. I had a perfectly running PVR on Win XP pro when I installed Vista. I think I'll be going back to XP.

it will do this if you login with the same userid. the patch enables you to have >1 concurrent users running under different userids.

for completeness: I can't use RDT with my gbpvr machine as it resets the 720x576 resolution to 800x600. So I use ultravnc instead.

regarding OP's question, I would stick with XP. I can;t see the advantage of using any of the other versions.
