UK Freeview recordings

Hi,

I recently recorded an episode of Midsomer Murders on ITV1 (UK Freeview). The recording was on 27th of February between 1400 and 1500. The filesize is significantly smaller than the other episode and the first hour (according to the timeline in vlc) skips minutes at a time during normal playback. Has anyone else had similar problems? After the first hour (approx) it plays fine.

Can anyone offer any explanation for this wierd behavior? Could it be down to poor signal?

which bit of the log tells you that? I'm just curious so i know for future reference.

Unrelated, but one thing that surprised me was how long the signal stats check takes with that device. On my Twinhan device it takes about 50ms, compared to as high as 800ms on your machine. This may lead to "glitches" in recordings, so it may be worth setting <BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording>0</BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording> in config.xml to disable the signal strength checks.

Yes, my nova-t-500 averages 62ms for the check.
