Problem with recordings: picture freezes audio continues

Hi All

I've been seeing this problem for a while I saw a thread about it a bit ago but can't seem to find it again. Apologies for this.

Some times whilst recording on some channels the picture freezes and the audio continues. If I fast forward then the progress bar moves across and the last displayed frame stays visible, when I stop fast forwarding the audio will continue from the point the picture froze. Does that make sense?

This used to happen when Lost was shown on Channel 4 and would happen pretty much always in the same place just after the ad break marker (black screen with Lost floating on it and the weird sound) I used to get around it by recording it on E4 as well just in case.

Some times the video will come back at some point throught the file but this is rare.

My PVR has been out of action for some time and I've just put it back together with 99.05 installed and i'm getting the problem again so far it has occured on

Desperate housewives (channel 4) wednesdays episode
Skins (E4) Thusdays episode
and something else also on Channel 4 (must remember to take notes)

I'm using Nova-T tuners (2)
not using comskip
dvr-ms

can't think of anything else relevant.

I'm not sure I'll have any logs as it was a bit ago but i'll try and dig them out.

Does a change of video decoder help?

It happened to me in the past when I experienced poor signal wich affected my DVB-T recordings.
My suggestion is: check the receiver signal strength.

I'll see if I can check the signal strength

I'll keep an eye on it and try and get more info

there was some reports of this over on the haupauge forums but no resolution as yet
