i'm not sure if gbpvr has this yet, but how hard would it be to include a comskip?

Read this thread Commercial skip thread for more on this. Also check the docs wiki as there may be info in there as well. And of course try searching there forum as there may be other useful threads in here somewhere.

But... what GBPVR is not doing is comskip realtime. I noticed that ver .64 allows to process a show while it is recording.
For example if a show is 2 hours long and I start watching it 1 hour in the show, the first hour of comerciall should be parsed in the comskip file.

The two features related to comskip that I would love to see.
Comskip real time. An easy solution would be to add another batch file when a recording is started. That way a user could put comskip in there. That would do the live and be a minor change. The second would be autocomskip. When you hit the commercial if you had a setting to automatically skip, that would be useful.

I second the automagical commercial skip! As sub has said, comskip may never be able to become reliable enough to automatically clip the mpeg file, but having an option to automatically jump past commercials would be sweet!

I am very happy with my comskip results. It is not 100% but when it is wrong I fast forward though a little bit of commercials. Never my show.

I assume this is no reason you cannot start comskip on a recording in process then after a period of time start watching the recording? If it works then i'm sure something could be put in place to allow something like this. Colin. |
