I just noticed that I had 'ghost' pending recordings set for tomorrow morning - i.e., they rescheduled some programmes by 5-10 minutes and both the wrong time and right time still exist in the EPG and are set to record. I still see this occasionally despite having the 'Completely empty EPG' option set.

Anyway...my usual way of dealing with this is to open Command Prompt and run gbpvr -onlyemptyepg. I then start the GB-PVR main app. and go to System and use UpdateEPG.

The last time I did this (maybe a couple of months ago) I'm pretty certain that all my Pending recordings were still there after the update (and the ghosts had gone).

This time around, the Pending recordings section is empty.

The strange thing is, the first time I did this (about 15 minutes ago), one pending recording showed up - it was a one-off 'Quick Record' of a film tomorrow night that I'd just set to record - all the others which would have been Season recordings were missing.

Cheers,
Brian

Have you got the logs that go with it?

Yeah - sorry. I did mean to attach them - long day.

I just repeated the steps from when I first spotted this...

1. Scheduled 'Minority Report' for tomorrow night.
2. Open Command Prompt then did gbpvr -onlyemptyepg
3. Started GB-PVR, went to System and used UpdateEPG

Minority Report is the only pending recording showing although the TV Guide is fully populated.

Logs attached.

For reference - the time I did this would be around 00:15 plus or minus a few minutes.

I changed the daily EPG update time in Config to 1am and repeated the steps in my message above.

My Pending recordings now shows all the correct programmes. The daily update obviously does something that the UpdateEPG command in System doesn't do.

Also, I spotted gED's post on another thread where he is using the command-line -onlyupdateepg so this looks like that command also doesn't do everything the daily update does.

Cheers,
Brian

Yeah, I just spotted this in my testing as well.

I only ever use the automated EPG update myself, so hadnt noticed these other manual methods werent rescheduling the reoccurring recordings. Also explains why its not been affecting everyone, but I did have the feeling something was wrong, since there had been a few reports kind of like this - but not enough detail to put my finger on it.

I'll have a patch for you to test in a few minutes.

Here's that patch. Let me know how you get on. Definitely one for the 'survival guide'.

OK - I've pulled it. I'll report back in a while - I'll try the System, UpdateEPG and also the command-line update and see what happens.

I think you're right there.

I tried it with -onlyemptyepg and -onlyupdateepg from the command prompt. I also tried -onlyemptyepg from the command prompt then System, UpdateEPG from the GB-PVR app.

Both worked fine when retaining the pending recordings.

Great - thanks for the confirmation. I've also done some further testing here.

I'll post a a note about it.
