I've had this card for a few days and recently began to figure out just how shoddy the supplied instruction manual is in regards to anything outside of simple installation, very little info on cabling etc. Anyhow when it comes to actually hooking this thing up to the TV where it is going to reside I was wondering if someone could give me a simple explanation as to exactly what connects to what. The system it resides in has a 7600GT OC vidcard with DVI sVHS and SVG hookups. The PVR is the 350 stated above, I think where I'm coming unstuck is the fact that the 350 has more than one output. The TV has a couple of SVHS inputs and a couple of composite inputs (yellow red and white). The signal is received from a Sat box. The system will be used exclusively for TV recording and not in conjunction with a computer monitor.
A simple explanation or a link to a good guide would sure be appreciated. I have decided after doing a bit of reading that GBPVR is more suited to my needs and looks easier than the supplied software that came with the card and its documentaion is far from adequate as well.

There is tons of info on the wiki http://www.gbpvr.com/pmwiki, but basically...

The TV out on the PVR350 hasnt been supported for about two years, so ignore that piece of the hardware entirely (it's nothing but problems and limitations). Sat box connects to PVR350's svideo connection, and the 7600GT connects to the TV. You'll also need a IR Blaster so that GB-PVR can tell the sat box to change channels.

Would it be possible to use it without the IR blaster. Would it be just as easy to take this card back and get the 150 or 250? The 250 doesn't come with an IR blaster either does it? Is there any way the card can be used without the IR blaster or was it a wasted investment?

Without an IR Blaster GB-PVR will only be able to watch the channel the sat box is currently tuned to. So if you schedule a recording for a specific time, then you'd need to remember to manually set the correct channel on the sat box at the time the recording was due to start. Live TV would be impractical this way.

Thanks for your help. The machine has MCE2005 installed but to my way of understanding it isn't necessary when using GBPVR. I'm starting to think that the 150mce may very well be the way to go then I can decide what software to use.

You are correct. I'd try to change to a pvr150. Just make sure you get what you want. There are packs out there with and without a remote control and an ir blaster.
