Remote stopped working after installed second card

My setup was working perfectly with a single PVR-150. Then I got the brilliant idea of installing a PVR-250 so I can record two shows at once.

This setup works fine except my 45 button remote stopped working. It does not work at all, not just inside of gb-pvr.

I tried reinstalling both cards, the 250 first then the 150 and vice versa. I tried them in different PCI slots. No luck.

I went back to a single 150 and it all works fine again. What the heck am I doing wrong?

You might have to ask Hauppauge support about that one. It seems to be a pretty common problem when you have more than one Hauppauge capture device.

I have a PVR250 and a Nova-T. When I install the PVR250 first and get the remote working, then install the Nova-T, the remote stops. All I had to do was plug the remote cable into the Nova-T instead. Now it works fine.

I tried plugging the remote into the 250 and it does not work either. Thanks for the tip though.

Is the icon from the Hauppauge remote application showing in the taskbar?

When you install the drivers etc. for the PVR250, have you tried leaving out the ir software?

I did that too. I only installed the drivers and the middleware update for the 250. I only installed the drivers, Intervideo Decoder, and IR software for the 150.

I have another machine I can experiment with and may just install in there to see what happens.

I think I figured it out.

Per some other forum suggested but Hauppauge support I disabled the PVR-250 in device management. Immediately after disabling and doing a reboot the remote started working again.

I then enabled the PVR-250 and it still works. I have not rebooted the machine yet so I don't know what will happen next. In the meantime everything is working as it should.

Hope this can help some other poor soul out there.

I found a script that used the DEVCON command to automate this at startup, as i had the same problem with a PVR-350 and a PVR-150MCE a few years ago.

If i can find it i will post it, but untill then have a look on the sage forums for similair.
