Greetings Folks

I'm posting from work so forgive my possibly stupid questions.

I am wondering what the popular solutions are for connecting their pc's to their tv's. I am guessing it could be a mvp but most likely it is a graphics card with tv-out. Are there one or two most popular (low cost) graphics cards that people recommend ?

Secondly, as for remotes, I can understand that there is not need to have multiple remotes but how does one go about deciding which cards to get if wanting multiple pvr cards ? For example, one card with remote and one without cause there is no need for a second remote ? or can one have two pvr cards with remote capability ? If so I take it there is a method for controlling both with a single remote ? or does GBPVR allow you to control both via one card's remote ?

Appologies if these are very basic questions but I'm at the stage of buying the hardware yet not sure which ones to go about getting.

Thanks for your patience

i made sure both motherboards i got had onboard video cards and tv out and currently both run through s-video although i have the option for component and RCA jack video on both. Many video cards have an s-video output at least (even the "non-tv" ones).

As for remotes; I didn't buy a card with a remote and ended up making my own receiver and using a harmony remote since it can control the entire entertainment system. http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=21936

The only concern I have there is if the mb has a good quality output. The mb I am looking at is Foxconn 6150K8MA-8EKRS Socket 939 NVIDIA GeForce 6150 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail which has both on-board video (no monitor needed, lower cost) and has a tv-out.[/QUOTE]

I hope you are talking about a video card, not a monitor, there will not be a little screen you can use on the motherboardSmile

Doing a compare on newegg there are four things that stick out.

Manufacturer DFI Foxconn
Price $79.99 $69.99
Chipset ATI nVidia
PCI Slots 2 3

I have experience with both manufacturers (longer with DFI).

I can see the video out looks more flexible with the DFI though. Certainly food for thought Thanks Big Grin
