Video and audio work fine at first under Vista. But after a minute or so the sound continues fine, but the video looks like the frame rate drops to almost zero. It looks more like a slide show. After about three minutes, frames stop changing entirely - one frame remains displayed. Never any problem with sound. Changing channels seems to just reset the timer - in another minute the problem is back.

I'm a beginner with GBPVR, but not with computers or video.

Appreciate any suggestions you may have.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the gbpvr.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

What video decoder are you using?

Just wondering... what capture card are you using? This same issue is being reported using the HDHomeRun in Vista Media Center. (It may or may not be related)

I'm using a Hauppauge PVR-150.

The log has been uploaded.... [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]

How can I tell which video decoder is being used?

If there is a preferred decode, let me know which one to install and I'll find it.

Thanks!

Nothing really stands out in the logs. Probably the best thing to try is switching video renderer and/or video decoder.

Download the Cyberlink PowerDVD Trial, then change the default decoder in GB-PVR Config ("Playback" tab) and see if you get better results. There are also other decoders that you can try, but this will give you an idea. The Microsoft MPEG-2 Video Decoder (Vista default and what you are using) seems to have issues with some HD streams.

I installed CyberLink and changed the default decoder - that solved the problem! Thanks for your help!
