Does the SearchWiz support SMS-like text entry?
Yes. Press either:
  • Ctrl-R (Keyboard)
  • Red Button (Remote)
A phone-key image should appear on the upper part of the screen. You can then enter data via SMS-like entry via the remote.

Also, you can default this mode by running Config, go to Plugin tab, select SearchWiz and check the Default PhoneKeys On checkBox.

I did it multiple times tonight, even with the new version. Choose Search Wizard, select Keyboard, type shield, click OK, my graphic for The Shield appeared in the lower right corner for a split second.

Could you send me your SearchWiz.log file? I'll try and figure out what's going on.

Is the SMS entry in all screens, or just the main screen? I configured the plugin to use SMS, I have the phone pad icon on the main screen and SMS entry works there, but not on the screen with the keyboard.

Ah, true, the keyboard screen is a utility that is part of the GbpvrUiElements.dll. I'll see what I can do about enabling SMS on that dialog.

The SMS feature should be available on the main, and filter dialogs.

I still don't understand why the version in the lower right corner is displayed for a split second when you select Search Wizard from main menu. There's no point in having it if the user can't see it. Mine displays then is erased right away.

Attached is my log file. I just did it again when I searched for "shie" (The Shield) and "idol" (American Idol). Does your plugin display show icon at all? If not, then someone else is interfering with your plugin. I've never seen you mention your plugin displays show icon in lower right corner.

I put that there so that i could identify the version as the program came up. I didn't want it distracting the user, so I hid it on the next screen repaint. Since it is causing confusion, I won't hide it anymore.

As far as show image, yes, it should show in lower right. I noticed from your log, in some instances, there is an '=' appended to the show name. Not sure what that is about. For example with 'The Shield', here is an entry WITHOUT the '='
========================================================================
ProgramOID [445521]
Title [The Shield]
Description [(2002-03-19) David investigates the team's involvement in the shooting of Detective Crowley.]
StartTime [4/10/2007 3:00:00 AM]
EndTime [4/10/2007 4:00:00 AM]
Genres [Crime drama, Series]
PChannelOID [57]
ChannelOID [57]
Channel [57 SPIKEP]
ProgImage [NO IMAGE]
Rec Image [NO IMAGE]
CriteriaSQL [(p.name like '%shie%' ) ]
========================================================================

And here is another (different programid) with the '=':

========================================================================
ProgramOID [409122]
Title [The Shield =]
Description [(2007-04-03) The Barn mourns the loss of Lem; Shane's behavior concerns Vic and Ronnie; Claudette receives distressing news about the Barn's future; Dutch and Billings discover the gruesome San Marcos mass murder.]
StartTime [4/3/2007 10:00:00 PM]
EndTime [4/3/2007 11:05:00 PM]
Genres [New, Crime drama, Series]
PChannelOID [26]
ChannelOID [26]
Channel [53 FXP]
ProgImage [C:\Program Files\gbpvr\media\art\The Shield =.jpg]
Rec Image [RecordingPending]
CriteriaSQL [(p.name like '%shie%' ) ]
========================================================================

Do you have a file with the name of:
'C:\Program Files\gbpvr\media\art\The Shield =.jpg'

I suspect something is messing with the show name, and it does not match the one on disk.

Also, it looks like there is an exception being thrown when the program attempts to run through the recording list.

Any chance you could zip up your GBPVR.DB3 and send it to me? It looks like there is something in there that is causing this error.

You can see the version number in 1/2 second? It is painted and then disappears so fast that I can't make it out. It would be better to have it stay there until the user hits any button, then never paint it again. This way I can select Search Wizard, look at the version number, then hit a button and it will go away.

Will email you my GBPVR.DB3 file. I have "art\The Shield =.jpg" because XRecord looks there for images. I also have "media\art\The Shield =.jpg" for other applications. The two dirs are identical in content.

I use XMLTV, and it puts a space and a user specified char at the end of the show name to indicate "this is a new show". So "The Shield =.jpg" (I specified it to use = as the new show indicator, which is shown in the Guide) is for new shows, and "The Shield.jpg" would be for repeats.

Just posted a new version that leaves the version number until the first keypress (or mouse click). Also I added better logging around checkForRecordingConflicts() where you were getting the exception. At least it might give a better indication as to what show is causing the problem.

wiki doesn't seem to be updated. Is linked zip file the new one? Binary compare shows differences, I assume linked zip file is new.
