I'm looking for a plugin to play DVDs. Transcoding, which is processing on the fly, might be the answer and is probably already done, I believe in Video Archive plugin. Dumb question alert: is transcoding what applications like PowerDVD do to play a DVD on a PC? My understanding of the term transcoding might not be accurate enough, because you can process things on the fly, but the term process can mean a lot of things, and not necessarily "read DVD MPEG2 data, convert data into something the computer can display, and then display it, all in real-time".
Right now I use AutoGK to convert a DVD to an AVI then play that in the Video Library. Probably a dumb/ignorant/difficult way to play a DVD
I see xDVD plugin, but it says for the MVP. I've seen that term before, but don't know what it refers to. I have a PC with GB-PVR on it. MVP sounds like it's a closed system with GB-PVR on it, much like an Xbox is a closed system PC.
