Hi all,

I have an issue with a couple (not many, but important) of lower channels
(6 and 10) where the audio on live TV and on recordings stutters or glitches
quite a bit. There's no real pattern to it; it seems to be random and happens
every few seconds or so. Some times are better than others and some are
worse. I have changed the "BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording" setting
to "0" to disable the signal status checking, but it didn't make a difference.
I have changed the "ForceHighPriorityRecordingService" setting to "true", but
it didn't make a difference. Only the channels mentioned seem to exhibit the
problem, leading me to believe there's something "off" perhaps about the
tuning or signal on those channels?? I have diligently searched the logs
(which were generated with "debug" logging level set), but have seen no
errors. I can post them, however, if anyone would like to see them. If it
could possibly be a tuning issue, can someone direct me to a thread that
discusses the best approach for manually adjusting the channel frequencies?
I have read over a few, but I'm not sure which is the best course.

BTW, I'm running v0.99.5.

Thanks in advance,

I dont think it likes the audio decoder you've selected for some reason, and its choosing to add another one:

Quote:22:42:36.359 VERBOSE Graph contains the following filters:
22:42:36.359 VERBOSE - Default DirectSound Device
22:42:36.359 VERBOSE - Video Renderer 0016
22:42:36.359 VERBOSE - AC3Filter
22:42:36.359 VERBOSE - Video Renderer
22:42:36.359 VERBOSE - App Overlay Source
22:42:36.359 VERBOSE - MPEG Audio Decoder
22:42:36.359 VERBOSE - NVIDIA Video Decoder
22:42:36.359 VERBOSE - MPEG-2 Demultiplexer
22:42:36.359 VERBOSE - Encoder
22:42:36.359 VERBOSE - Capture
22:42:36.359 VERBOSE - Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Crossbar
22:42:36.359 VERBOSE - TV Audio
22:42:36.359 VERBOSE - TV Tuner
Try selecting a different audio decoder to see if it helps.

Would that affect only certain channels sub?

Yeah, maybe. Either way, it shouldnt be trying to use two audio decoder at the same time like is shown in your logs - bound to lead to problems.

Hi sub et al.,

I tried setting the audio decoder to other types available, including the one
selected now (Nvidia audio decoder). I still get the audio glitching on certain
lower channels. I have also updated the PVR-150 drivers to the latest released
(but not the latest beta) drivers.

I have attached the latest logs. The last recording performed has the audio
glitching (just finished the recording about 30 minutes ago).

Any other ideas to try? Any help is much appreciated. (Wouldn't you know the
audio glitches would happen on the channels I most often record? Sad )

Thanks,

Its still using two audio decoders. That still needs to be fixed.

Its most likely AC3Filter that is causing these audio problems for you. Others have seen this in the past. Try uninstalling this filter.

Sorry for wasting your time sub. I somehow missed that in the logs. In
retrospect, I should have done a search for the text "AC3Filter". I assumed I
had forced it to use the Nvidia audio decoder as I did see that text in the logs.

Again, sorry for that. I will uninstall the AC3Filter one way or another and see
if the problem goes away.

Thanks for the help!

I had this problem with the AC3 Filter installed too. It was fine after I took it out.
