I currently have the Hauppauge PVR 150 installed in my HTPC. Everything is working pretty well (except for this issue:http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=25875 ).

I want to add another card, and I have my eye on the Hauppauge 274

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6815116633

It has hardware encoding and all that. My only concern is that I want to be able to use the IR blaster from my PVR 150 to change channels on the 274. Will these two cards "play nice" with one another, or am I better off just getting another PVR 150?

I ended up getting an pvr150 Mce board as my second card. It didn't come with a remote but it had FM. Seemed like a good tradeoff at the time. Course we barely use the fm part but once in a while it's useful.

I was thinking about that, but since GB-PVR now has built-in music and I generally either use that or the music files on my HDD, I have no need for the FM tuner.

My only concern is that I want the IR blaster from the PVR-150 to be able to control the 274 as well. Does your PVR-150 IR blaster control the MCE card as well? I don't need antoehr remote since I have the original that came with the PVR-150 board.

The remote doesn't really control the card it just gives input to GBPVR and it controls whatever tuners it decides to use. So yes it controls both cards. That said some people have had trouble with getting the remote to work at all when they have two cards. I think this was a problem with a 150 and a 250 though.

I haven't heard of anyone using the 274 yet, but it looks just like a pvr150 except for the extra rca connectors, so in theory it should work fine.
Is it listed on the supported capture card list?

I just checked and the 274 isn't listed as supported, but when I go to the Hauppauge site and search for the 274, it comes up as the model number for the MCE150. This makes sense to me as it seems to be the same card as the MCE150, just without the remote.

Maybe Sub can weigh in and let me know if this card is supported?

I think I did see someone mention the chipset was the same so it does sound like it should work. Is an MCE board without remote, about the same price or is that more expensive?

I think 274 is probably just the model number for the normal PVR150MCE - it normally doesnt come with a remote (unless use buy on of the 'kit' packages).

People dont usually refer to these numbers. For example, a retail PVR150 from a PAL teritory is a model 1056. Nobody would know that though, instead just referring to it as a 'retail PVR150'.
