Record ALL showings of a TV show on ANY channel

For example, Family Guy plays on cartoon network, FOX, and TBS. It shouldn't be such a hassle to set up 3 different shedules to record all of them! I think in addition to the option to record the show any time on that channel, there should be an option to record it any time.

CDKScheduler, the scheduling part of X-Record does exactly what you want.

I haven't checked X-Record, but that option would also give you the ability to record channels that haven't picked that series up as of yet. For instance, they begin a new syndication, etc.

Question... I was wreading the wiki page and it was saying that you do/don't have to add something to the postprocessing.bat. What should I add? I guess it seemed a little ambiguous about what you "needed" vs not anymore.

I installed the plugin, but don't like it near as much as the standard version.... I haven't figure out how to remove it. I figure it's probably something simple. Can someone point me in the right direction?

You can uninstall XRecord in Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. (I just tried it and reverted back, too.)

You can use the CDK Scheduler only (don't need to enable XRecord, XGuide, XSearch). You just need the following line in your PostUpdateEPG.bat.
PriorityRecording.exe > recording.log To create the advanced recordings you'll have to go into XRecord's Scheduler menu at least once [recommended] or you could create a priorityrecordings.xml file by hand [optional for experts]. It's really a lot easier than what the wiki page makes it seem. |
